  • Still No Decision

Well the letter should have come by now twenty eight days was the time frame and there is still no letter. If we were given a time frame and did not meet it there would be consequences. However it seems that the same rule does not apply to all parties.
    Suprised?...........
The Polar Blast has continued to pound the counrty. It has been super cold, extreemly windy and lots of rain. The irony is that the rain has not fallen in the area where the hyro lakes are. As the lake reserves are low we still are in the position where continuity of power supply is a risk and all users are being asked to save power with adds ruiing on TV daily. Expensive petrol, high food prices and now our power supply is at risk...........all a liitle disturbing....

  • What Tommorow Holds

Well it is Friday and another working week is over found this and would like to share it.....
Our background, circumstances, and this week, may have influenced who we are today, but we are responsible for who we become tomorrow.

No one can tell you what you are going to do tomorrow. Because only you know.

  • Gone By Lunchtime

Some people seem to be able to live two life times in the time most people live one. Others are "gone by lunch time" which is a famous phrase over here in NZ. I wonder if we will ever learn to understand some of these things. Pehaps this is the great mystery of life.

  • 29 days

Still no notification. I guess that "no news could be good news" but I think I would still like to know. I don't know what if anything can be done and I guess we have waited all this time and we just have to be patient.
It is real winter at the moment overcast, cold, rain and thunder. At least two homes had their roof blown off last night. There does not seem to have been any damage in our area so we are all very lucky.

  • 28th Day

Well we have waited 28 days and the decision should be notified now. It has been a long long time since the 6 May 2007. It has come at a high cost in every sense. Mum needs some assistance and this will be the true test of the ACC system.

  • More On Time

Found this this morning thought it followed on well to last entry

Procrastination is the enemy of opportunity.
It strikes even when you need to decide to do something terrific.

The cure comes in three questions.

    If not ME..who?
    If not THIS... what?
    If not NOW... when?

You'll be glad you asked.

  • Should you ask why?

    Well sometimes...
There are however times when there is no purpose in asking why as there is no reason or answer to the why question. For example why did it rain or why did the earthquake strike? One can speculate or propose some fantasy type explaination but not produce facts or anything of substance. Words such as luck, chance and oportunity come to mind in this situation and perhaps would be useful in trying to reason why.
When it comes to man made products events or services then it is a different "ball game" you should and must ask why. Much of the progress we have made in history has come about by asking why and intensively searching for facts and explainations. href="http://www.blog.co.uk/media/photo/roses_019/2540277" title="Roses 019">Roses 019Our health safety systems do this and much valuable knowledge and expertise has been gained in these fields. The black box on an aeroplane helps investigators answer the why question and consequently many safety features and improvements have been developed. Governments use commisions of inquiry and again the purpose is to further the greater good.
Well ask why when it serves some purpose. But do not ask why when there is no answer to be found. Perhaps the best we can do is be wise in hindsight.

  • What is Time?

Some say time is in your hands... Others say I don't have the time... Time waits for no man....One thing I know for sure is that time is finite you realise this as you get older. The other thing that you learn is things that must be done should be done there and then ....if delayed.... they are still there and tasks are often compounded. It also seems that routine makes time drag while variety does the opposite. I believe that there is all the time we need to do the things we need to do.... and there is sometimes time to do the things we want to do. The delimar we face is spending more time doing the things we want to do...... and less time doing things we have to do although sometime we enjoy doing the have to things. Perhaps the answer is to see time as the most precious thing we have and not waste a minute.

  • What ever the weather

Well the weather seems to be a suprise for everyone. No matter what the experts say it seems to always be less severe than forcast. A cold spell was forcast today but it was a mild day. I worked in the garden for a while and it was rather nice. We had a few drops of rain about 3.00 pm but it was not enough to wet the foot path. Went out to get a few things lots of people around. Had good day but have not done all I had hoped to do.

  • Camp Trust Meeting

Went to the Camp Trust meeting last night. They made Don a life member. He has put on more than 20 years service and it is well deserved. Had dinner after it was very expensive and I doubt that the Trust will return to that venue again. It was also very noisey and difficult for the speakers and those listening. However everyone made the best of things and Don was pleased. It was interesting that a private room was booked but not provided at the venue.

  • Nine Days

Well there now only nine days to wait. We should get a decision then. After all that has transpired I am not that hopeful. But I guess we have done all that we could and I am ot sure were we go from here. Mum is home but there is a lot of restrictions and I face a bit of an up hill battle to improve things. I guess that I can only work away at one thing at a time. Will continue to do that and be positive as this helps me and those around me.

  • No Rain No Power No Grass

Well there has been no rain of any consequences for some weeks the hydro lakes are less than half full and some people are predicting there will not be enough storage to meet predicted power needs in the weeks to come (some have suggested that there could be power cuts in three week)
Grass is alo not growng and some farmers have little real feed. There are no easy solutions and few people seem to be making sugestions. The government discussed the situation today and apart from advertising and promoting power saving little else seems to be on the cards. Perhaps the rain will come and all will be well. Who knows?

  • Repeat Medication

Well what a circus Mums medication needed a repeat. I went to the medical center who sent me to the medical center associated with the hospital. I went to the other medical center who sent me back to the first medical center and when I went to get the prescription I was told I would need to go back again to the other medical center. I carefully explained that I had been there twice. They conceeded that they did have all the information that they needed. After three days I finally got the repeat of the medication I needed for my mother.
